Hola,
So today is Day 6 post-bc and I must say my confidence is 150% through the roof!
I am starting to wonder if there is truth in men liking women with long hair?! It seems that ever since I cut my hair, more men are checking me out and complimenting me on my hair or look. I was initially concerned about what people in my office would say but they were nothing short of impressed with my new 'do!
I am loving my hair but I am also drooling over some of the Fotki pages I am coming across - which feature women who's curls are long and flowing. I am seeing impressive styles that I cannot wait to experiment with when my hair finally grows. But I truly cannot wait to see my natural hair texture (again!).
Enjoy yourself today people!
Peace!

Soooo.. I'm new to this blog thingy... now what???
My big chop - July 2, 2010
I opened this account on Monday so that I could comment on my bestie's blog (http://www.puresimplicity-diva.blogspot.com/) - she's a fellow natural newbie - about my big chop. I now want to utilize this blog to chart my growth into the natural hair lifestyle. I call it a lifestyle because so much goes into maintaining your hair's natural state.
You have to first change your attitude towards your hair (i.e. positive affirmation that you are a beauty without the creamy crack you slaved for once before), you also have to change your way of thinking as to the products you used before versus the products you will use now (i.e. Pantene worked on your relaxer but most of the line will not work your kinks and coils).
LOL @ myself for trying to sound like a natural hair guru. I've gone this route a few times before but, I was so young and unsure of what direction I wanted to go in with my hair, I decided to go back to the creamy crack.... smh.
But I am here now and my journey will be on these pages going forward.. God Speed to my Natural Journey!
Peace!

This was my hair in February 2010... then I did this:
Me in Miami May 2010 I had cut my hair from a long, relaxed style about a month before this pic was taken.
The day after my big chop... July 3, 2010.....
